ADHD Nutritionist
Nutritional support and advice for children who have ADHD & other behavioural challenges.
When you have been told that diet does not impact your ADHD - think again.
ADHD is increasing at a rapid rate in Australia, research tells us that up to 10% of our children are diagnosed annually. ADHD can be hard to diagnose as there is no set diagnosis by just using blood tests. It can be subjective, but it is mainly based on symptoms and behaviour that the child might be experiencing; disruptive at home and at school, not sleeping well, easily frustrated, not finishing tasks and restless .
Nutrition can play a huge role in helping best support our children who have either recently been diagnosed either with ADHD or parents that are struggling with behavioural issues for their little one.
Rosie being a mother of two deeply understands the stresses of how to navigate nutrition for little mouths. It can be a challenging time for any parent.
In clinic I will rule out nutritional deficiencies such as omega 3, zinc, iron, magnesium. We will initially improve these levels through diet and possibility of child-friendly supplementations if needed.
For testing in our children with diagnosed ADHD, I normally start with an Organic Acid Test (OATs) which is a urine sample and a stool sample to build a picture of the gut microbiome. Both are less invasive as blood tests and are a good place to start so we can start to build a picture of your child’s health.
